Geraldine Doyle, a legendary comedian and singer died at the age of 76 after her battle with cancer from a longtime. She first gained the fame as a singer in Ireland. She passed away on May 29 before executing her plan of moving to Australia. She was regularly seen on screens during 1970s and 1980s and got diagnosed with cancer in 2009, which returned seven years ago that led to death.

Doyle was born in 1948 in Dublin, she was then migrated to Australia with her husband in the early 1970s. She appeared frequently on TV shows such as Midday with Ray Martin and The Kerri-Anne Kennerley show. She had won various entertainment awards in her career such as  Best Stand-Up Comic in Australia, Best Female Comic and Best Versatile Performer.

A memoir was also published by her in 1990, called You Wouldn’t Read About It, which was full of ups and downs in her career touring Australia, the US and Canada, and on board luxury cruise ships.
