Morgan Spurlock, documentary filmmaker died on Thursday at the age of 53 in May, 23. The cause of his death is a long-term cancer. He ate only McDonald’s for a month to explain the danger of a fast food diet. He died in New York and this news was announced by his family in a statement, “He passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 23, 2024, in New York from complications of cancer.” His brother said, “Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas, and generosity. The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.”
He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on November 7, 1970 and completed his graduation from New York University in 1993.
Morgan was the Oscar nominee who was best known for “Super Size Me” that has generated a global debate over the danger of a fast-food diet in his documentary film. During this he has gained 26 pounds (12 kilos) and his cholesterol level shot up and doctors declared liver problems in his body after proper examination.
In 2019, he came with his next documentary “Super Size Me 2:Holy Chicken!”. This documentary forced the chicken industries to give greater importance on freshness, artisanal method, farm-to-table goodness, and ethically sourced ingredients.
