Eight climate demonstrators were arrested by U.S. Capitol Police who jumped on the field at National Parks during the Congressional Baseball Game on Wednesday. No injuries were reported in the incident. As per the video released by the advocacy group, the demonstrators descended the face along the left field line after planning interruption as announced by the climate group Climate Defiance on social media on Tuesday. On this day, Climate Defiance which opposes fossil fuels disrupted meetings, speeches, and events with Democratic leaders in order to brought their attention towards climate crisis.

“Before the charity game, we were aware that some people planned to possibly protest. This was discussed during our planning meetings and put in our comprehensive action plan to ensure we had plenty of resources to swiftly respond,” Capitol police said in a statement on X.
