Search teams who were searching a missing driver over the weekend found a male body on the Florida coast on Monday, but he was not that missing person as per the authorities. St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said, “His clothing and physical characteristics do not match those of the missing diver from Sunday.”
The authorities did not have any clue about the man pulled from water as there were no descriptions regarding the person who weighed between 200 and 225 pounds and appeared to be over 50 years old. Medical examiners are still working on the body to know his cause and time of his death.
The Florida free driver named Virgil Price of age 39 years is missing since Sunday. He was last seen wearing a green wet suit. He was freediving near the Halsey in a World War II-era shipwreck when he failed to resurface. He then reached its final stop on May 6, 1942 at a place which is located about 130 north of Miami, while en route from Corpus Christi, Texas, to New York. It got struck by a torpedo, the ship came to rest on a sand bottom beneath 65 feet of water.
After searching for 36 hours and 1,415 miles, the U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search for price. “The decision to suspend an active search is never taken lightly. We extend our sincerest condolences to Mr. Price’s family,” said Lt. Cmdr. John Beal. Authorities are on investigations for both cases..
