Police says the runner not responded in the Shelby Park portion of the race. Metro Police finalized that a man became unresponsive during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon on Saturday.

The runner is finalized to be 26-years-old Joey Fecci, he had worked in Nashville as chef. In Nashville Yolan finalized Fecci worked at the Joseph Hotel until January 2024.

The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Running series says Fecci was found unemotional in the Shelby Paark portion of the race and medical crew performed CPR at the scene. He was transported to nearby hospital where he passes away.

Here is the group’s full statement:

“It is with our deepest rue to finalized the death of a race participant at Saturday’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Nashville event. The received crucial medical attention by the on-site medical team before being transported to near hospital where they passed away. We admire the medical crew who worked quickly to support the participant. We share our highest empathy with the family and friends of the race participant, and they will continue to offer them, his support as they go through this very difficult time. Out of respect for the participant and their family they will have no further comment”.

The Metro Nashville Police Department finalized the runner’s family was notified.
