Robeson Medical Examiner Dr. Richard Johnson has revealed the cause of death of Mica Miller of Myrtle Beach of age 30 years. According to him he died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. As said by Dr. Johnson, “Based on the nature of the wound, that it is consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. And it was not in the back of the head, as it has been speculated.”
Dr. Johnson also reveled that he was not the on-call medical examiner of Miller’s death but he visited the scene as an assistant of on-call medical examiner. He is currently serving for the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. He also asked “for everyone to please await the full timeline of events before making assumptions and coming to conclusions.”
Mica Miller died at Lumber River State Park on April 27 according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. As per the details released on Monday, it was a harassment incident that lead Miller to get killed herself as she was afraid of her life.
Mica’s friends and family marched outside Solid Rock Church, demanding justice for Mica. Mica’s memorial service was held by her family on Sunday afternoon and at the same time, her husband Pastor John Paul Miller also hosted a memorial service for her at the Solid Rock Church.
