While divers continued to look for another man who was still missing, authorities said that two adolescent swimmers were recovered from the water off Brooklyn and sent to the hospital in severe condition.

According to FDNY officials, calls regarding three people in need of rescue in the sea off Coney Island near Stillwell Avenue and Riegelmann Boardwalk came in just after 8 p.m. on Friday. The two teenagers, ages 18 and 17, both female, were retrieved from the water after more than an hour of searching. In critical condition, both teenagers were taken to Coney Island Hospital by ambulance.

A man who was thought to be in his 20s was still missing in the water, and divers were still looking for him. It wasn’t apparent if the man was present with the teen or he went into the water to help them when they needed.
